We stayed at Hostel Ginkakuji for our Sakura Season trip in Kyoto. The staff were welcoming and helped us when we got lost. The Japanese style rooms were cozy and the shared bathrooms were clean. The location was near Ginkakuji temple and convenient with bus stops and a grocery store close by. The neighborhood had amazing restaurants like the Udon shop, Ramen shop, and Okonomiyaki place right across the street. We felt at home and even got to know other guests during a dinner party arranged by the staff. Highly recommend!

    Recommend this hotel.

Great location near famous attractions and cafes. Convenient amenities like free bike use and comfortable futons. Warm rooms and light dimmer for a cozy atmosphere.

Unreasonable check-in times and strict atmosphere. Rooms with no soundproofing, which disturbed sleep.

Great value for money, with a large private room and own air conditioning unit. The location is perfect for exploring Ginkakuji, Philosopher's Walk, and even Nanzen-ji on foot. The staff were really kind and helpful throughout our stay.

The breakfast option could have been better.
